The unique lightweight features include the use of carbon fiber for the bumper, tailgate and interior of the trunk, which reduces the weight of the car by 90 kg, compared with the 2,040-kilogram Silverado Regular Cab, equipped with a 5.3-liter engine.

The concept is also equipped with a lightweight aluminum drive shaft and composite rear springs.
However, the desire to reduce the weight of the Cheyenne led to the disappearance of the clutch, spare wheel, center console and some sound-absorbing materials.
"Weight reduction is a proven way to achieve greater vehicle performance, which Chevrolet has demonstrated more than once in vehicles such as the original 2001 Corvette Z06 and 2014 Camaro Z/28," said Perry.
